Q&A Calls HARMONIUM - book your presence
βœ”οΈHow to attend a q&a call? 1) Please see the calendar for the dates and timings of the q&a calls. One week is for harmonium, other week is for singing. I changes every week, so watch out for that. 2) Write in the comments of this post the date and time of the q&a call you want to attend, at least 24h beforehand. I will then know who will be joining when. If nobody writes a comment here with a chose a date and time, the q&a call might then be canceled since nobody will be joining. 3) Go to "classroom" and click on the harmonium q&a calls for the zoom link. See you there! πŸŽΉπŸ‘‹ Note: You can always join a q&a call, just to hang out together even when you don't really have a question, it's just very nice to have some interaction.

Do you practice with a metronome…?
Hello dear musicians πŸ‘‹ πŸ™ŒπŸ½ I hope you are doing great. I have learnt the Adi mantra (the song Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo) in 2 days, from Kenny’s video. It’s very interesting… I’m going to buy a metronome ( can’t use from phone for this one) so that I can keep up with the practice without interruption. Rhythm is important especially if one think about playing with other musicians … ( must say I have skipped module 4 but will go back to where I was in the course previously!πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š Module 3. 16 as needed) Has anyone bought a metronome or using it in any other ways (electronically and how) ?? Or do you just practice by ear?πŸ‘‚πŸŽΉπŸ˜Š Thanks for reading πŸ™πŸ™

Hey dear community! I’m practicing the Adi mantra (3rd day in a rawπŸ‘πŸΌ) and I’m counting now and try not too stop (no interruption ): Thanks Kenny, counting makes a big difference to the rhythm (as I have no metronome) . It’s still needed as I want to sing the mantra too. But here you are , an example of progress throughout my learning journey. Please share your learning journey too πŸ˜ŠπŸ’™
Sharing about my learning journey
Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well. I felt like sharing something about my learning journey so here it comes: Last week I picked up my harmonium again after not having played for a very long time. I noticed that I really enjoy playing in the autumn and winter, but not so much during the summer. Somehow I always tend to practise for a while and then stop for a long period. I think it would really help if I searched for other people in my area to play music and sing together but I still havent found the courage to actively search for people. I just play by myself and don't even talk to others about it. I don't do anything 'spritual' like yoga or something so I'm not in those circles in my area. I live in a small town in the Netherlands so I think not many people have heard of the harmonium or of singing bahjans. So I'm too shy to post something on Facebook for example. Anyone else feel the same? I was a bit worried that I had forgotten a lot, but I was happy to learn that that was not the case. Having done the lessons about the foundations of the cords has really helped I guess. Here a short clip of me practising Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo. Feel free to share your version as well! It would be nice to see more people sharing on this platform to motivate each other :-).

Sharing about my learning journey
Oh I see. That’s enlightening πŸ™ I do enjoy the Alankars exercises Kenny gave us. Yes, they are excellent for the fingers. And if you like Ragaas, then you will enjoy the process more and achieve your goals. It takes time but I am happy with the process .. time goes quick when practicing (which enjoyment is definitely there!) Right now I’m back to playing Alankars and quickly rediscover what I learnt a few months ago. You can never get enough practicing the scales as you know there are many of them. But I guess we can choose which ones we want to play (e.g C, E, A major scales..) Happy learning πŸ™πŸ’œ
Hey Sanne, I’ve listened to you playing again (just after practicing some song myself) and what I can only do is play the chords from the song I’m learning. ✨What came to my mind while engrossed in it while chanting as well, is that I can not wait to how how to play notes between chords so that it sounds beautiful. Should i skip a few chapters to discover this? (I think I will !😊) But definitely will come back to the scales πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘³β€β™€οΈπŸ’œπŸ™
Payed access to the community
As we believe it might be valuable for everyone when more and more people will join this community, we now made it available that people can join our community for only 7$/month. They will only get access here in the community but not to the course. Still we believe that anybody can get a lot of value from this community and contribute themselves with value as well.
