How Would You Answer These?
Happy New Month and Happy Halloween 🎃! I hope you all had a spook-tacular time and please tell me you didn’t dress up as Barbie 🎀. You know like those guys on tiktok. Or did you just wear your normal clothes, stay home and watch Netflix? 😁 Whatever you did, I hope you had fun and ate lots of candy. But not too much. Remember, health is wealth. Speaking of wealth, I need your advice on something. A few days ago. I'm sitting in my bedroom slash office, when I hopped on a call with one of my new clients, Alex, who is a big shot in the podcast world and He wants me to redesign his website to reduce his bounce rate and increase his conversion. How did I bag him as a client? It’s kind of a long story, so we'll save it for another post, but let’s just say it involved some clever networking, some ballsy pitching, and some blackmail. Just kidding. Just Kidding. So, what did we talk about? Well, I can’t spill all the beans, but I would share with you a piece of advice he said that made me rethink my whole business strategy. Have you ever had one of those moments when someone says something that changes everything? Yeah, Yeah, it was like that! Here is what he said: One of the biggest mistakes that most people make is trying to sell to everyone. They think that by casting a wide net, they will catch more fish. But what they don’t realize is that by doing so, they are also catching a lot of trash and wasting a lot of time. The truth is, you can’t sell to everyone. You can only sell to someone. And that someone is your ideal customer. The person who needs your service the most, who has the most pain, who has the willingness to buy. You need to find a small and specific market that you can dominate. A market that is hungry for what you have to offer. Now, before you roll your eyes and say “duh”, let me explain. When I first heard that, I was like, Whhhat?.. Are you kidding me? I said that in my mind. I’ve been building conversion focused websites from Fortune 500 companies to startups for years.

@Christine Malek 🤣 Thanks for taking your time, I appreciate your wisdom and your vote of confidence. You make a great point about the hassle of having two agencies. I don’t need more paperwork and headaches in my life. I already have enough of those. So, I'll give it a lot more thought, Thanks Christine!
What’s the most embarrassing thing that happened to you while recording a podcast?
Hey, I'm new here and I have a burning question for you. What’s the most cringe-worthy thing that ever happened to you while recording a podcast? You know, those moments when you wish you could crawl into a hole and never come out. We’ve all been there. You’re in the middle of a great conversation with your guest or host, when something goes wrong. Maybe your microphone cuts out, or your dog starts barking, or your kid walks in on you. Maybe you forget what you were going to say, or you say something stupid, or you offend someone unintentionally. OR you forgot couldn’t name your guest or worse, called them by the wrong name 😂 Come on, spill the beans. I’m sure it’s not that bad. P.S. You could tell these stories on your podcast.

I will go third. few years ago, when I was interviewing a famous author and entrepreneur, who shall remain nameless for his own sake. he had just released a new book that was selling like pancakes, and I wanted to get some insights from him on how he did it so I prepared some great questions, did my research, and got ready to record the podcast. everything was going smoothly, until… i forgot his name. Yep. I forgot the name of the person I was talking to. The person who was kind enough to give me his time and share his wisdom with me and my audience. The person who had a bestselling book with his name on the cover. How did it happen? well I guess I was so nervous and excited that I had a brain fart. I was trying to wrap up the interview and thank him for being on the show, when I realized that I couldn’t remember his name. I panicked. I tried to stall. I looked at my notes, but they were no help. I searched my memory, but it was blank. I felt like an idiot. So, what did I do? Well, I did the only thing I could think of at the moment. I called him Bob. Yes, Bob. The most generic name ever. The name that has nothing to do with his actual name. The name that probably insulted him and made him think I didn’t care about him or his work. I said something like, “Well, Bob, it’s been a pleasure talking to you. Thank you so much for being on the show and sharing your amazing insights with us. You’re a true inspiration and a genius.” He didn’t say anything. He just hung up. I felt like dying.
