Perseverance through Trials
God is so good to give us the words we need in the moments we need them. We are overcoming sickness in our household and thanking God for healing over our physical bodies, in Jesus name. This week, Pastor Ed offers a segment of devotionals around the trials we face, and how God uses trials to prepare us so that we can receive the blessing on the other side of it. God is with us in every trial and will give us the perseverance through it when we rely on Him. Remembering that His power works perfect in weakness, when I am weak, He is strong. Regardless of how we feel, we can tap into His power, a power that is limitless and perfectly suited to meet our every need. I can testify that I can feel His presence when I pray the Word over my life, my body, my husband, my children, my circumstances- because the Word of God is active and full of power! "It is sharper than the sharpest, two edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow." Hebrews 4:12 Whether you are in the midst of a storm or coming out of one, or just trying to keep your head above water, do you see God's hand in your life? Praising God for who He is and what He has done always helps me to see His goodness regardless of circumstances or how I am physically feeling. I attached some prayer starters from Wanda Alger and the song, "Yes, I will" by Vertical Worship is one I sing over my trials. Take some time today to journal to keep a record of His faithfulness in your life. Perseverance Through Trials: by Pastor Ed Newton "Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope."- Romans 5:3-4 When you're going through a tough time, it’s natural to want the trial to end as quickly as possible. But have you ever considered that God might be allowing the trial to be prolonged because He’s building something essential in you? That something is perseverance. While it might be uncomfortable, perseverance is one of the most important qualities you can develop in your spiritual journey, and it’s crucial for the road ahead.
