Great news! If you're new to Google Ads (or have shaky foundations), I've just dropped the Google Ads Quick Start Program in the classroom for you. The program is designed to take you from "Zero experience" to "More knowledgeable than most ad managers that have a year of experience" and has over 8 hours of content, a free e-book, a bonus master class on marketing principles, and it's free! NOTE: I will be taking this down when I've had the chance to build a landing page for it and sell it. Also NOTE: You can only access it for free if you've done something halfway valuable for the other members of this group! Yup, you've got to be Level 2 in this group to access the free quick start program. You can do that really quickly by just posting an introduction or something. You only need 5 points to get to level 2, so posting an introduction and/or commenting on other posts is a quick and easy way to get some engagement. Every time someone likes one of your comments or posts, you get a point. Get 5 likes, and you've got access to all of the content in this group. The more value you provide, the more likely you are to get likes, but if you like other peoples' comments and share the love, it will likely come around if you post anything yourself. If you have no interest in the Quick Start Program for beginners, there may be some other stuff behind the Level 2 gate that makes it worth making a single post, so give it a shot! So I went from a thriving and very engaged paid group (cheap, $9-$19/mo) to a completely dead, but growing group when I made it free to the public. I had locked everything behind the 2nd level, which required 5 likes to unlock. If you joined and added an introduction with some level of value, or put in any sort of valuable post or comment, it would be easy to level up and gain access to everything. However, nobody is posting, liking, or commenting. I want you to have access to my Google Ads Quick Start Program, so I moved it to level one in the classroom. Now you don't have to give any sort of effort to get 8 hours of Google Ads and Marketing Principle training. Enjoy, lurkers. ;) Also, I'm gonna have a baby any day, so I'm not holding this month's coaching call. Nobody joined the last one, so I'll try again in December.

Hey everyone! My wife had a baby in November and I've been working from home. Everything has been out of sorts and I missed yesterday's call. Nobody was on the October call and I had said I was not doing the November call, so we're definitely overdue for a call if you want one. I'm not able to make today's coaching call because of some family matters. However, each month since moving the group to free, I have gone into the office to sit for a call with nobody on it (save one time, when an OG member hopped on with a question). I will no longer be going in at set times for calls if they are not helping anyone. If you need help with anything, please drop a question in a post or DM me and I'll give you my personal attention as quickly as possible, rather than scheduling monthly calls. For those of you who didn't see this email from Google: You are receiving this message because one or more of your Google Ads accounts may be impacted by an upcoming change to how we handle low-activity keywords. What’s changing? Starting in June 2024, we will begin to automatically pause low-activity keywords. Positive keywords in search ads campaigns are considered low-activity if they were created over 13 months ago and have zero impressions over the past 13 months. Why are we making this change? We want to help advertisers simplify their accounts and focus on keywords that drive results. Next steps If you decide that a paused keyword is necessary for your campaign, you can unpause it. However, we strongly recommend that you only unpause keywords that you believe will receive impressions in the coming weeks. Unpaused keywords will be automatically paused again if they don’t receive any impressions over the next 3 months. My thoughts: This seems pretty benign and is probably ACTUALLY about cutting back on their costs and server space. There are a lot of messy accounts out there and I only see this as helpful. No cause for concern unless they start moving up the timeline on those "low performers" and offering to improve accounts by controlling keywords in different ways.
