Most user friendly stl file software
I am trying to determine if I have been waisting time or if I'm on the right track. I started using Thinkercad to make stl files. Then I started using fusion 360. I don't know if I like only being able to only make 10 designs on the free version. What does everyone else use?

@Brandon Santana that's good to know. I will have to look through the program.

@Brandon Santana I just figured out how to change from editable to read only. Thank you so much for the help.
What printer to buy?
So I might have my ender 3 sold but I can’t decide what printer I want I’d like an enclosed case preferably the Bambu labs X1 carbon but it seems a little pricey. Is there another printer just like it for a lil bit cheaper price or should I just bite the bullet on the X1 Carbon? Thoughts and suggestions. I’d mainly be using it for personal use and maybe eventually start selling things that I print with it. Also what add ons or accessories are a must for the X1 Carbon if I do bite the bullet?

I just bit the bullet and bought an X1. I love it and it's way more user friendly than my ender was. My hind sight is I wished I would have saved up and bought the X1 first. My ender sits and does small prints. I have the X1 running allot.
Maintenance
What's the preferred form of maintenance? I currently have an X1 carbon and I put a small amount of oil on the lead screws and vacuum out the printer. I also use compressed air (air in a can) to blow off the cameras and the small areas of the printer. I also check the belts often to make sure they are tight. Are there any other things I should look out for?

@William McTavish I do inspect about once a month depending on how much the printers going. I also print exclusively pla.

@William McTavish right now it's a hobby. I'm hoping to learn more on the development side of stls and make some money. Although I wouldn't mind making money using my current printer. I'm new enough that I don't know how to get started.
Would you install this on your printer? πŸ–¨οΈ
These two companies had partnered up to create a software that tracks what you print on your 3D printer. More specifically weapons (pew pews) If any of you have seen the Jackal (Its a TV show on Peacock) - then you may have noticed how this series uses 3D Printers to create weapons of their own in the show. Even simple printers such as an Ender 5 to create parts. But real life is nothing like the show, and there are people using 3D Printing to create "pew pews" which can be concerning especially if they aren't trained and/or parents with kids who have access to these machines. I'm sharing this to bring awareness and hopefully create meaningful discussions 🧐 Here is the TLDR of the article. Two initiatives are tackling the issue of illegal firearm production through 3D printing by creating software to detect and prevent the manufacture of untraceable gun parts. 1. 3DPrinterOS, in partnership with Montclair State University's MIX Lab, has developed an algorithm that identifies 3D-printed firearm components. 2. Print&Go introduced "3D GUN’T," a system designed to block the production of unregistered, untraceable firearms, commonly known as ghost guns. Here is the link to the article https://3dprint.com/314218/daring-am-software-advances-aim-to-curb-illegal-3d-printing-of-firearms/ But I'm curious to hear your thoughts? Would you install a software to monitor/limit what you print or do you think this is a thing we need? I've also provided an image of a raid on someone printing these things.

Wouldn't install it. Not creating any pew pews but seems like a loophole for the future.
