October Challenge 🎃
🔎 WHO’S UP FOR A *NOTEWORTHY* CHALLENGE? 🤗 I love participating in challenges on Substack! They get you to do something every day that you know you *should* be doing but probably aren’t. Or is that just me? 👉🏼 Because Tiny Tribes🪶Lite is a community primarily for Substack newsletter writers, podcasters, vloggers, photographers, teachers, and everything else you can think of, we’ll create a challenge that involves Substack. 👉🏼 Not everyone in the community publishes a Substack (I know, hard to believe, right?) But everyone here is connected to Substack in some way. October’s Challenge will include everyone who wishes to participate. OCTOBER CHALLENGE DETAILS ⏱️Time Frame: 15 Days (we’ll start out small and develop our commitment muscles) 🎯 Goal: To establish the daily habit of posting to Notes (it will drive new free subs) 🎨 Description: Pick a category from the list below and agree to engage with it each day for 15 days - weekends included (October 1-15th) HOW TO PARTICIPATE ➡️ Comment “Im in!” On this thread. ➡️ Post something to Substack Notes each day for 15 day, beginning on October 1. ➡️ After you post your content to Notes each day, leave a link in a comment a special thread I’ll create and pin to the home page. ➡️ Pick one of these *post types* and submit one each day to Substack Notes (it’s a not a daily list unless you want it to be). They are just examples from the top of my head. Feel free to insert another in the comments. 1.) Post a comment on another’s Notes (needs to be helpful, furthering the topic and not just a one or two word “Great!” or “I love that!”). 2.) Post a pet photo and the context for the photo. 3.) Link to a post you wrote and why we should read it. 4.) Post a video to Notes that’s relevant to your subscriber. 5.) Link to a Social Media post that your readers would find helpful. 6.) Link to a podcast episode you were either featured in or produced. 7.) Link to one of your Favorite or Recommended Substacks and explain why you like it.

October Challenge 🎃

🚨ONE DAY LEFT:🚨 The October challenge is beneficial if your Substack is stale and gathering dust, yet to be created, or you're simply Substack-curious. 😉 Posting each day to Notes can build followers; when you launch or relaunch your Substack, you have a built-in base of warm leads. 😎

🏆 Who’s Got a Win to Share? 🙋🏼‍♂️
Here’s mine for the week: 🏆 Subscribers grew from 169 to 230 in the last 30 days. - I attribute the growth to tuning up my Hero post, About page, and Welcome email -- what I call the Power Triad — and posting to Substack Notes up to 3 times daily.

💎 Creating a Brand Story that Resonates with Your Tiny Tribe🪶
🗣️ Excerpt from the upcoming course: "The Science of Client Attraction for Tiny Tribes🪶" 📙 Humans are hardwired for stories. A compelling brand story can turn casual observers into loyal tribe members. A compelling brand story allows you to: ⚡️Stand out in a crowded marketplace ⚡️Build emotional connections with potential clients ⚡️Communicate your value proposition clearly and effectively ⚡️Attract clients who are the best fit for your unique offerings The key to crafting your brand story is to keep it from becoming a distraction. In this scenario, no one wants to read a novel. Keep it clear and concise and move the reader forward. Your brand story should explain: ▶️ Why you started your business ▶️ The challenges you've overcome ▶️ The transformation you offer clients Critical elements of a powerful brand story: ✅ Authenticity: Be genuine and vulnerable ✅ Conflict and resolution: Show how you've overcome obstacles ✅ Emotional connection: Tap into the feelings that drive your clients 👉🏻 Remember, your story isn't just about you—it's about how your journey enables you to serve your clients better. 👨🏼‍🏫 Exercise: Write a short brand story using the classic hero's journey structure. Start with your call to adventure (why you started), describe the challenges you faced on your journey and the steps you took to overcome them and conclude with how these experiences shaped your ability to help clients. ---------------------------------------------------------- 🪶Questions for Discussion/Comment: 1. Have you written out a brand story for your business/Substack? 2. If yes, how do you communicate it to your readers?

Introduce Yourself, Your Substack & Your Pet
...or Anything You Feel Like Sharing... Let's get to know each other! Please feel free to add a response to this thread below, sharing where you are on the planet, a photo of your pet (two-legged or four), or something you like to do for fun. You can also leave a link to your newsletter or website here. 😊 Since I'm the landlord, I'll begin 😆 I'm Barry Baz Morris, but call me Baz. I picked up the nickname over 50 years ago when I was a much younger man living in the UK (Hexham, Northumberland, England) in the mid-70s. I write two Substacks: Tiny Tribes🪶 & Beyond The Subscription. Both will be mentioned here in the Skool occasionally. I'm located in Vancouver, Washington (USA), in Southern Washington, about 10 minutes from Portland, Oregon. I moved here after retiring and living for 50+ years in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, where I was a marketing writer and a physician. Did I mention that I'm addicted to coffee ☕️ and emojis? 🤭 I'm overjoyed that you're here. I know that together, we will accomplish some great things and help make you more money! 💰 -me doing the happy dance that you're here! 😆 -Kona, the WonderDoodle (r) 🐾
