Day 1 - Assignment submission
Share the 3 things that help you standout as a PM job applicant. Feel free to use these thinking prompts: 1. What skills and qualities do I have as a professional that are important for a PM role? Which of them are not visible through my resume? 2. What values do I have as a person that make me a great fit for PM roles? 3. What can I learn about the company/role/hiring manager, that will help me make my application better? How can I find this information? 4. What unique experiences do I have that will make me stand out?

- You should hire me as a PM in your company because of my user empathy and creative problem solving abilities that I possess. These are my greatest virtues which I have developed over time with practice and patience. - Also, I have always been a hustler, thrive in uncertainty and a great advocate of startups because these are the ones which solve the real unmet needs and deal with a lot of uncertainty. - And I always measure my impact and outcomes created to the business aligning with their core values. Well wondering how do I claim all of these, let me give an instance which could help you to understand more why you should hire me: I was working on a problem of how to represent the applicant's information in the recruitment product that I have built for recruiters. The UI view should be simple, informative, actionable like move the applicants across stages, do bulk actions by selecting bulk applicants at once, view information about the applicants at a glance etc. My deep understanding of recruiters helped me provide two insights to my design team: One, I observe a lot of recruiters who use these recruitment tools have used google sheets or excel for their hiring execution, And these would help them to perform bulk action, apply filters in a seamless way. Another insight is recruiters need quick details, want to understand the stage of the candidate and swiftly process them to the further stages. So why can’t we have a CRM kind of a view where we could have different stages and in each stage the list of candidates would be present as small candidate cards displaying quick information about the candidate. Using these insights, we have created two view options, one a CRM kind of view and a sheet kind of view and guess what recruiters have happily used CRM when they need something to process quickly and when they want to perform something in bulk or filter, they use the sheet view. Tracked the no. of steps they have performed and took personal feedback from several recruiters and their positive responses really made the entire journey of building this worth. If I hadn’t paid attention to various details about the recruiters or understood what kinds of tools they use, what kinds of actions they take, and how they do them, continuously talking to several recruiters, patiently listening to their pain points and problems, and hustling around building the user personas and key attributes, collecting every bit of information about the recruiters would have been impossible.
