I suffered this email horror so you don't have to 💀
So I wrote a post for my free community, which I also planned to auto-send via email. I crafted an image that would not only illustrate the post, but sit at the top of the email and hopefully increase retention. Now. In this post, I also referred to the VSL for my paid group. At first, I tried attaching that VSL (a YouTube link) to the post, but the system automatically repositions videos so that they place first. And I really didn't want my VSL thumbnail to be the image at the top of the email. Can you tell what happened next? CAN you, dear (and patient) reader? Instead of attaching the YouTube-hosted VSL, I linked to it in the text instead. Safe enough, I thought. And then I posted the post, which auto-sent the email to 172 members... ... with the VSL thumbnail right at the top of the email, telling people to join my paid group. 😫 My carefully crafted image? Nowhere to be seen in the email. This was LITERALLY THE LAST THING I WANTED TO HAPPEN. 😆😆😆 So here's my question: what is the possible benefit of auto-embedding the thumbnail of a video that a creator has merely LINKED to in the text - and that ending up at the top of the email? God knows, I love Skool and everyone involved with it like the siblings I never had, and this platform is a user-friendly dream, but from my POV this particular feature can jump in the sea. 😄👊🌊 P.S. While I'm on the subject, I'd love it if we could also have the option to not have videos auto-place first in the 'media row' on posts? P.P.S. UPDATE: Since posting this, I've also noticed that the post itself also has added the video in first place on the media row. I can at least delete this from the post...
