College recruiting
It’s prime season right now to get on the radar for college teams and recruiting. You need to start now to really get ahead. If you need some guidance and a game plan, comment “College” and I’ll send over a resource.

Using Your Weaker Foot
As a footballer it’s very important for you to implement both feet in your play. Coming up in America it’s very tough to stick out from other players, and it’s very easy to get lost in the field of players that could’ve been pro. So this past week I’ve been implementing a small tweak in my routine, where I use my left foot from game specific positions on the field, and using it to switch the play or make a cross. It’s a nice way to boost your confidence and actually really fun once you get the hang of it. When playing small sided with my usual training partner I noticed that I was using my left more, and making really good plays with what was a leg I used to only walk on. Hard work pays off!!

Satisfying
Recently my friend and I went to a local field to train at, when the local Div 3 team pulled up to train in public. My friend has trained with the team multiple times and made it a suggestion to train with them. We took a couple touches before making a decision, and I noticed somebody training for my school team (in other words competition) was just playing a small sided game. Idk if it’s an ego I’ve got 😂 but I found it really satisfying to me that instead of playing a sloppy 5 a side, that I could train with a more experienced side where I went through more game realistic situations and got more tips from the older players that really helped me. I find it really good and satisfying that I’m pushing myself more than the competition that’s fighting for the same spot than I am on my high school roster.

@Brandon Hima important to note this as well, I can always get better and I use this to motivate myself, I can always sprint faster, I can always do one more thing than yesterday.

@Brandon Hima the biggest lesson I learned was to never give up on the play, there was one play where I gave my midfielder a 1-2 (I’m a fullback) and kept my run but the pass was a bit behind me and slow, I put my head down a bit but ran after the ball regardless when an experienced player (from the opposite team of the training match) from the college team told me to keep my head and keep the play moving, where I turned on the ball and played a through ball to my winger where I pushed the game further up. Felt really good to get my confidence boosted like that.
Todays Training ✅
Today I woke up and got a nutritious breakfast in with plenty of carbs and proteins to get my body ready for the day. This past week I’ve been focusing on stamina work and endurance, so pretty much working on John Terry workouts. My school team has been on a blackout period where coaches aren’t allowed communication with the students trying out. This Monday I go back to school summer practices where we’ll continue to work before the official school preseason. I’ve been feeling soreness in my calves and couldn’t run efficiently so I focused on Chest and Plyometrics today, while implementing some recovery after my session. Felt good today and discovered that to truly improve and get that 1% better you need to literally push past what you’ve got. For example during chest I focused on really reaching my maximum and pushing with all I’ve got. It’s just the little tweaks that do the most work.
