One thing I found was the AI Skills (In Preview) feature in Fabric. I believe it was introduced in Aug. I have been exploring it to see if I can do some prompt engineering on my lakehouse tables and surface it as a chatbot for business stakeholders to query data via Natural Language Questions. In this regard, this article shared by Will has been very helpful (https://fabric.guru/use-ai-skills-as-cell-magic-in-fabric-notebook) to understand how to query Fabric Skills API within a notebook and also potentially outside of Fabric. This will be really interesting if we can connect external applications to the AI Skills to surface this information in a better UI with higher UI/UX customization for business users. This is still very early for this feature, so I am hoping more things will come up as the feature matures.
Medallion Architecture Best Practices
Anyone has any best practices for using the Medallion Architecture in Fabric (Bronze, Silver and Gold Lakehouses). I am thinking to do the following, but wanted to understand if this is the right approach for implementing Medallion architecture - 1. Have Bronze Lakehouse which contains all raw data from source in a Workspace. I do not plan to make any transformations in the Bronze one. I plan to keep this in a workspace which contains shortcuts to all other data sources as well in separate lakehouses 2. Have Silver Lakehouse which does transformations like - Data Quality checks, de-deuplication (if needed), merging of data from different tables and appending data from different tables. Silver lakehouse will only exist in my Dev workspace 3. Gold Lakehouse - This is where I will apply business rules and manage any changes ot them, add additional columns, etc needed for reporting and dashboarding. This lakehouse will also be connected to the Semantic Model and PBI. I plan to have Gold lakehouse in Dev, Test and Prod workspaces, which I plan to deploy via Deployment pipelines.

Great, thanks!
What are you working on, any blockers 🚧or challenges?
Hey Fabricator! It’s another tuesday and WE (aka the whole community! ) are curious to know : - What are you working on? - Any blockers or challenges you’re up against? These could be in a project at work, a pet project, or something in your learning journey. There’s a good chance someone in the community has tackled something similar or has a fresh perspective. So don’t hesitate to share in the comments, or feel free to make a separate post if you’d like more focused feedback. No blocker is too small to ask for advice on, so FEEL FREE TO SHARE ! Looking forward to hearing what you are up to!

I am working on AI Skills on Fabric (Its in Preview Mode). I am able to generate pretty decent AI Skills on my data by just giving 2 tables as input. I am actually surprised how well this is working by just some Prompt engineering. It also has an API which I am trying to connect to as mentioned in this link- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-science/ai-skill-scenario. But the API is giving me 405 error. Anyone has explored using the API and if any changes need to be done to that code present on that link?

@Will Needham - Thanks!! I looked at this blog and figured out my issue with the API link I was using. I was able to query the response of AI skills via API within Fabric notebook now. I think the link that I get from the Publishing section of the AI Skills did not contain the AI Skills id in it. It correctly showed up in the browser link. I feel its some kind of a bug, which hopefully Fabric team fixes soon. v1/workspaces/{workspace_id}/aiskills/{aiskill_id}/query/deployment
15th Nov 2024 - NEW DP-600 STUDY GUIDE & New DP-600 Notes in the Classroom
Hi everyone - as of today, Microsoft have officially updated the DP-600 study guide - meaning that if you take the DP-600 exam from this point - there is a modified set of topics that will be tested on!! To help with your revision, we have updated our own DP-600 Course here on Skool to align with this new study guide. Currently, the course includes: Study Notes (with Key Points, and lots of links to Further Learning Resources), plus this time, we’ve added DISCUSSION POSTS under each lesson! This means you’re no longer studying solo. If you ever feel stuck, you can ask questions and get answers from myself and our fellow community members (within the relevant lesson). Plus, over time, you will be able to see the questions asked by others, which should help your studying journey! I will be adding more depth to the study notes in the coming weeks and adding videos in the future (they take a while to plan, record & edit). Head over to the classroom to check out the fresh resources, and feel free to ask any questions you have in the discussion posts! PS: if you have already taken the DP-600 exam, there are many new elements to the study guide now, which you might also find it interesting to review - PLUS it will be helpful for when you need to renew your certification after 12 months! Check them out!

Thanks for updating! Any idea where is KQL used the most? Not sure why Fabric is prioritizing it for DP600. I have never used KQL before.

1. I would say having hands on experience definitely helps before attempting the exam. 2. However, thorough understanding of all the concepts and going through MS Learn is really critical 3. Will's video series is also super helpful, which gives a great overview of kind of topics that would come in the exam, but then using it on a hands on project or going into more depth of those will be helpful 4. I would say proper time management during the exam is also critical. Do not spend a lot of time on the case study. I did that mistake and had just 40 seconds left for last 3 Qs. 5. As everyone said above, MS Learn is very critical. You will need to use it in the exam, so knowing how to search for what you want and being able to navigate to the required topic will help a lot with Qs you dont know or for Qs where you are not sure b/w a couple of options.
