Hey, my name is Arnis, I am from Latvia (you probably have to Google where that is 😁). I've been learning to sing with a vocal coach for a while, like 1-2 years, and kind of achieved the first goal to simply be able to sing basic songs while playing guitar. I am into rock and metal so my end goal would be singing with distortion, which is why I am here. And when I can do that I would like to record vocals for my own songs which I've been writing for about 6 years. A dream I have is to simply record my own album. Found out about this community while searching for Spotify podcasts related to singing. While most of the stuff I tried was annoying, this one really hit the spot. Have listened to the grit and screaming episodes multiple times already. Great stuff! So, decided to give this a try, will see how it goes 🙂. My favorite singers are M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), Russel Allen (Symphony X) and Jorn Lande. So that's the type of distortion I would like to learn eventually. At this point I think I can squeeze out something more similar to Dave Mustaine 😁, which is not bad but not something I am aiming for (no offense to Dave, I like his vocals too).
