Hi from Atlanta!
Hi everyone! I'm an educational professional who straddles the private and public industries. I am an adjunct Instructor at Georgia State University, teaching business communication and professional development to business students. Up until last month, I was the on-staff Education Manager for a boutique social media marketing agency. I also work in a learning and development role at an administrative support company. I've been educating since 2011 and consider myself an all-around educator. I would love to do facilitation work as well. The more I learn about facilitation, the more I realize that I'm already headed in this direction with my approach to teaching/educating. I look forward to expanding my skills, learning more about facilitation, and networking with everyone! 😁

@Ashia Sims Humphrey welcome!
Introduction
Hello! I totally love that this community is from all over the world and cannot wait to learn from everyone! I retired from 20 years in Public Health at the end of 2023 and used many similar facilitation techniques throughout my career. I'm excited to put all of this knowledge into use in a second career! Also, I'd love to meet anyone who is in Atlanta, Georgia!! 👋

Creating a workshop for developing conditions of satisfaction
I am work with a design experience task force focused on creating a consistent design experience that aligns with our brand and values. We are going to create a workshop to develop conditions of satisfaction. Any thoughts would be appreciated. There will be twenty people and we only have time slots for two separate one hour sessions. Thank you in advance

@R Campbell Here are my thoughts and ideas: Session 1 (Understanding and Brainstorming): ------ Divide the 20 participants into e.g. 4 groups of 5 people. 10 Minutes: Begin with a presentation to all groups together introducing the concept of Conditions of Satisfaction (CoS) in order to align on a common understanding of CoS- 40 Minutes: In breakout sessions each group brainstorms CoS As output of the breakouts: Each group should aim for a concise list of 5-7 key CoS statements. 10 Minutes: Wrap up - explain next steps Between Session 1 and Session 2: --------- Give homework! Everyone should go through the CoS ideas and contribute questions for clarification. Session 2 (Refinement and Prioritization): --------- 30 Minutes: Have each group present their CoS to the other groups, facilitating a discussion to gather feedback, clarify, refine, and merge similar CoS from different groups. 30 Minutes: As a whole group, use a prioritisation technique like dot voting to rank the refined CoS list. Additional thoughts: ---- the time is very short - especially with so many people. Discussions and conversation (like clarifying the meaning of certain CoS ideas) are impossible. Focus would be on collection and choosing the CoS in a silent mode. The break between Session 1 and Session 2 should be used for digesting, collecting clarifying questions so that in session 2 every participants is able to vote and choose. Planning needs to be done very carefully to make the session super efficient which it needs cause time is so short. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Fatigue during brainstorming
Hey Everyone! How do you deal with fatigue of workshop participants during brainstorming sessions? During problem-solving workshops, when the group has to generate solutions to the problems they have diagnosed (using brainstorming), after the second brainstorming session the participants usually are really tired? How do you deal with it, especially when there are more than 2-3 problems the group would like to deal with? Of course, time allows it too! Thanks in advance for your help!

@Piotr Stefaniuk here are my thoughts: - Apply the Creative Matrix: see attached files - Do breaks where the brain can relax: go for a walk, do some movement, do something completely different - this allows the brain to "incubate" and ideas flow on its own - - Make ideas more tangible: role plays, visualisations, prototypes - build to learn - apply AI to create a large amount of options Hope you find some value in it :) What do you think about it?
Facilitating 15 tables each with 10 people :-/
Hi, I have quite a challenge. I’ve been invited to a sales conference at my company, and the organizer has asked if I could help run a workshop. At one point, all 150 participants will be split into 15 tables, with 10 participants at each table, and they will spend about an hour brainstorming various ideas. I don’t have any prior experience with workshops like this. However, I’ve facilitated the Lightning Decision Jam by AJ&Smart more than 10 times. I need something simple, as the idea is for me to walk around the tables, give some advice, suggest a technique, but it’s not intended for everyone to follow a single technique. Please help me 🙏. @Gregor Miklič cool! :) about the 124all: I use it for every occasion where a larger group needs to be split in order to get everyone engaged. I use it the way you describe it: with 1 - individual, 2 - pairs, group (like think pair share)....regarding times: I personally adapt it depending on the workshop goal . .in my experience it is super flexible to apply... the way you describe for sure works like charme..:) I think same tactic would work when you embed it in an slightly modified version of LDJ :)
