How does the Instagram algorithm work in 2024?
But before getting to the explanation, you need to understand that knowing how the algorithm works is not going to help you if you are posting nonvalueable content or nonshareable content. So this is how it works. Once you publish a piece of content, it gets distributed to 25% of your followers and to a portion of people who are not your followers but whose interests align with the content. Then, the algorithm measures two things, watch time and engagement. If a person spends time watching the content it gets pushed to more people with similar interests otherwise, if the content doesn’t grab the viewer's attention it gets no boost. Also, if a person shares, saves, comments, or likes the published content the algorithm pushes the content to more viewers resulting in more reach and engagement from a broader audience. Don’t overthink about the Algorithm you need to be consistent and improve your content daily.

Why your posts are not getting reach
If you used to get good reach on your content earlier and has suddenly dropped. It can be because of these four reasons. (with solutions) 1. Ghosted - Sometimes, creators stop posting the content for months. When they start posting again, they expect the same reach from their videos. Solution - Start posting content consistently to improve your reach. Even if you want to take a break, do not take a long one. 1. Content Style - Either you have stopped posting the content that has been working for your page, or you are posting the same style repeatedly and your reach has dropped. Solution - This might be confusing but if you lie in the first category then you have to bring back your old content and for the latter try something new, and do something outside the box. 1. Shadowban - Go to the settings and check if you have broken any community guidelines if you have then try to resolve it and don’t post any content for a few weeks. 2. Algorithm Change - There are chances that you don’t know how Instagram's Algorithm works right now because they keep changing their Algorithm every few months.
