n8n Vs Make
Hey guys! I recently joined the community and started reading some posts and watching some videos about AI automation in n8n and found it really interesting! I've always used Make.com and is my go to but I'm thinking of maybe trying out with n8n. The one thing that I saw which I thought was awesome was about n8n was the agent feature and the {{$fromAI}} function. The question I have is, what are the main differences between n8n and make (Pros/Cons) and which one do you use and why? Thank you guys! Really excited to learn more in this incredible community!

@Benji Waksman I am using the community version hosted on Digital Ocean. I just got three features of the Pro plan added to my server free by n8n, for registering my server with n8n.

@Benji Waksman droplet is $8/month. Your domain cost for the hosting should be considered. Depending on your automation workload, you can choose droplets with more power GPUs. The runs or active workflows in the community version is unlimited. I don’t currently have any production workflows. All my workflow are learning projects. In total, for starters the cost is approximately $7 - $8 to run because I use the $6 droplet.
Meet My AI Clone: What Do You Think?
I created this with just a few clicks, using only a 30-second video to train the model. The result? A clone that looks incredibly realistic! For the parts where the AI might look slightly off, we simply add a frame or edit it to ensure better retention and a more polished final video. I've attached the raw, unedited video here so you can see exactly how it looks. Let me know what you think!

This looks great @Tanmay Jundare . While there were some shadow flares or slightly off parts like you put it, I hardly noticed it wasn’t a real you. I just thought it was a low quality camera issue. So, which of the AI cloning apps did you use? What prompted your choice? How hard was the learning curve? How affordable is it? Could you have used an alternative that produces a more accurate clone at the same total cost or less? These are all the things I am curious to know. Nice talking head clone.
A Great LLM Comparison Tool 🌟
Hey AI Automation Society 👋 I came across an incredible resource that I think you’ll find super helpful: Vellum’s LLM Leaderboard. 💡What’s it about? This site breaks down all the top large language models (LLMs) by: - Context window size (some handle up to 1 million tokens!) - Pricing (great for spotting cost-effective options) - Performance on tasks like coding, math, and language understanding If you’re exploring which LLM is the best fit for your AI automations, this is a great place to start. Check it out and let me know your thoughts! 👇

Great tool @Nate Herk . I found those LLM leaderboards useful in knowing how many LLMs we have out there and when looking for deep dive tech specs they don’t usually talk about on their websites.
How to setup N8N selfhosted on DigitalOcean
Hello everyone! I made a tutorial with the fastest way to self host your own N8N instance with DigitalOcean. It's not a simple version of N8N - there are custom JS libraries (OpenAI, Supabase and etc) and PostgreSQL DB instead of default MySQL. I also simplified the whole process into 5 commands with special scripts to make it possible to selfhost in 10 minutes. Why n8n and this setup? 1. It's cheaper and more flexible than Zapier and Make (telling you as ex-Make QA engineer 😄) 2. You can build AI agents and use JS/Python code with custom libraries. I have added instructions for easy setup of JS libraries. 3. The default MySQL DB that holds execution history and N8N data is weak, and scaling scenarios with DB can soon lead to speed and memory issues. So I've added PostgreSQL DB instead, which is automatically installed on DigitalOcean.

Hey Mark, great post. I am sure this will be so helpful if only there won't be codebase conflict in the future. I have a few questions. If I install the server following your guide, are you certain I will still be able to update n8n, the n8n community way, without breaking anything now or in the future? Most of us here are not developers. We are no-coders trying to do things you guys do. Will this your optimized version of n8n server be sustainable long term for a no-coder like me, in terms of server management? Thanks for the great tutorial.
