Introduce yourself and share a photo of your workspace
Hey there, it's Henry Gao! 👋 I'm based in the Bay Area, California, hanging out with my lovely family - two kiddos and our golden retriever boy. Though I did the whole architecture school thing in both Canada and the U.S. (yeah, twice!), I discovered that teaching is my true calling in life. Drawing has always been a passion of mine, and now, I've seamlessly transitioned from pen and paper to the wonders of the iPad. When I'm not busy shaping young and old minds, you can find me hitting the trails for a run, exploring nature on hikes, or catching up with our church family. My goal here is to ignite your interest in the iPad scene. But I'm not just about design and drawing! If you've got any burning questions or just want to chat about life beyond architecture, shoot me a message. I'm all ears and ready to share whatever wisdom I can offer. ✨

Hi everyone! I am Alessia from Leuven, Belgium. I just relocated here with my family and in the process of seraching for new job opportunities as architect! Wish me luck :) Can't wait to integrate more digital hand-drawing in my future projects!
A new rendering!
I’ve been dabbling again and working to incorporate the great feedback I’ve received, such as adding context and human scale, framing the building, etc. take a look and let me know what you think! Note that there is a large retaining wall on the left side that I struggled to incorporate but not have it detract from the building. Cheers!

Really nice to see the evolution of this drawing and amazing results! Wow! Congrats!! Can I ask you if you started from an image from another software, a 3d view or something else? I am just curious about the entire process since I am just starting with Morpholio! :) If you want to share more details I would be really happy, thanks a lot! 🙂
Hi from Alessia
Hi! I am an italian architect living in Finland and soon moving to Belgium! I have with more than 10 years experience in historical building conservation and renovations. I started my path as illustrator one year ago with other softwares and I’m excited to share some of my work with you!! So nice to be part of this community, can't wait to explore the possibilities that Morpholio Trace offers for integrating design with my passion for hand-drawn illustrations. Looking forward to connecting and learning together! Thanks Henry for this opportunity! 🤩

@Michael Ulm Thanks a lot! Yes, it has been a really interesting path, sometimes really challenging but also rewarding... I used a lot Adobe Illustrator in the past, Autocad, Archicad and I would really love to use Morpholio Trace to finally combine my love for hand-drawings in architectural design... I think I am doing my first steps and that's so important! Transitions take time. I find Adobe Fresco really intuitive for art but I am curious to try Procreate... I should do it and compare the results! 😄 Many things on my plate at the moment... can't wait to connect the dots and find my professional path using more the PEN and IPad 😎 I would love to see your works with Fresco, ask if you need any suggestion!
Two more from Nara, Japan and Adobe Fresco app and travel drawings
On occasion, as an Architect and Artist, I do drawings while visiting historic sites, and here are some line and color study drawing of shrines and environs in Nara Japan… Using iPad pro and the adobe Fresco app with Apple pencil.

Wow! Amazing illustrations. I personally love the first one...less is more, so simple and so effective. The second one is really interesting for the technique. Do you have any social media where you share your works?
Clear as mud??
Sometimes between my original messy sketch, linework and applying color I manage to totally lose my way to the dynamic drawing I saw in my minds eye. Back in my analog watercolor days I had a mentor who swore by the importance of a quick value sketch to create the roadmap to help define the path you want to travel. So, long story not so short I’m posting the work process used for my latest effort. Initial sketch, linework, value sketch and color application. The value sketch took all of 5 minutes and was used to determine color value afterwards. The colors are a bit saturated/exaggerated but I think that illustrates the point a little better. Trying to see through the mud? Give this a shot. Oh, 100% Morpholio Trace.

I love the first sketch indeed and maybe you can mantain the same "line style" also in the following drawings to preserve the dynamic touch you mentioned :) Really nice anyway! I appreciate that you share your process here!
