Making My Lesser Self Cry: The Power of INTENSITY!🔥
Ever have that inner voice tempting you to take it easy? Telling you to slow down, relax, or maybe even skip the hard stuff? Yeah, that’s my Lesser Self talking, and it hates the word INTENSITY with a passion! In fitness—and in life—my Lesser Self is my Enemy. It waits, watching closely, ready to strike whenever I hesitate. It whispers: “Just take a little rest.” “You’re doing enough already.” “That’s good enough; just stop.” But when those whispers come, that’s the cue to PUSH HARDER. My Heroic Self steps up, reminding me that it’s time to go Beyond the Limit—not just to hit 100 reps but to go beyond and crank out bonus reps just because I can.💪 The truth is, the voice of doubt and comfort will always be there, lurking. But every time I choose to go beyond it, my Lesser Self cries a little more... This has taught me that pushing through those moments of “I can’t” strengthens not just the body but also the mind and spirit. Intensity isn’t just a workout principle—it’s a mindset. Next time you feel that urge to rest or settle, challenge it: 1. Go a Step Beyond: Set your goal, and when you hit it, push a little further. It could be 5 extra reps, another mile, or another 10 minutes on a project. 2. Treat Comfort as the Enemy: Recognize that comfort wants to keep you where you are. See it as the sign to turn up the heat. 3. Keep Your Heroic Self in Charge: Take control, banish that lesser voice, and show up with INTENSITY. Every time I hit the gym, work on a project, or face a challenge, I’m choosing Intensity over Ease. I’m training myself to listen to the Heroic Self, not the Lesser Self. Every rep, every step, every action is about being Relentless and Unstoppable. Are you ready to make your Lesser Self cry? Comment below if you’re joining the challenge to push harder and make intensity your new standard! 💥💯 Here are a few more of my post ⏬ BIG WIN this morning! Love this!! Yes!! I need to exercise my heroic self more often, my lesser self has gotten away with too much ease!! It’s so easy to justify that I deserve to relax… but then I’m left frustrated with the same me week after week. It’s time to be the hero I need to push through and do the things I really want, become the person I really want! Thanks for your inspiring post @Jon Pakula !

Problems…GOOD!
We’ve all been around that person who always seems to find the downside in every situation. No matter what happens, they complain, blame, and point fingers, and before long, everyone else starts getting pulled into that same negative energy. It’s toxic, and I know I’ve fallen into that trap a time or two myself. Over time, I’ve figured something out: This mentality gets you nowhere! Complaining about problems without working on a solution is a dead end! In fact, constantly looking for someone else to blame instead of taking responsibility is a LOSING game. The more we give in to negativity, the less we’re focused on finding solutions and getting better. One of my favorite reminders for situations like these comes from Jocko Willink... When unexpected problems arise, his response is simply, “GOOD.” Because every problem is a chance to find a solution. It’s all about perspective! Imagine facing every setback or unexpected challenge by thinking, “GOOD…now I get to figure this out.” It’s a mindset shift, and it changes the way you handle obstacles. Problems are no longer something to complain about...they’re Opportunities to Grow and find new ways forward. Every day, you have a choice: Victim or Victor? Are you letting life happen TO you or FOR you? I CAN or I CAN’T? Do you embrace a solution-focused mindset or stay stuck in “I can’t” thinking? Choosing to see problems as opportunities takes effort, especially in a world filled with negativity. But when YOU take control, your entire perspective changes. View every obstacle as a step in your growth journey. Focus on creating solutions that address challenges, knowing that each one strengthens your path to success. Embracing problems builds resilience—a skill that’s essential in both business and life. Every time I face a setback, I’m working on my response... Instead of complaining or blaming, I’m asking myself, “What’s the OPPORTUNITY here?” It’s not always easy, but it’s helping me stay focused and make progress even when things go sideways.
