Saturday, 23 November - Day 8 of 75
🌟 Short Summary Kept the momentum going with UI improvements and learning new component-building techniques. Chelsea’s win was the cherry on top of an already productive day! ⚽ 🛠️ Detailed Progress and Achievements - Platform Refinements: Spent around 4 hours improving the platform's UI for mobile devices, especially the landing page, which had some layout shifting due to custom visualizations. Also worked on: - Auth flow: Optimized the process to ensure a smoother user experience. - Welcome page and dashboard layout: Enhanced the structure and visuals for a cleaner, more engaging design. Progress is steady, and the platform is inching closer to where I envision it. - Learning New Techniques: Watched a few tutorials on building new components to add functionality and enhance the platform's features. I’m being mindful not to overload it too soon, ensuring each addition complements the platform’s purpose. - Football Boost: Watched Chelsea’s game during lunch, and they WON! 🎉 The win really uplifted my mood and set the tone for the rest of the day. - Daily Routine: Took my dog for a walk, completed my daily mathematics lesson, and then treated myself to a much-needed long nap. 🔮 Looking Ahead Tomorrow, I’ll continue refining the UI, possibly focus on accessibility improvements, and start working on one of the new components I studied. ✨ Final Thoughts It feels amazing to keep the momentum going! The platform is shaping up nicely, and Chelsea’s win made today even better. Here’s to more productive days ahead! 😄

@Digitl-Alchemyst Steven-Watkins I’ve been doing the same thing!! I’ve called mine the ‘component library’ and I’ve started working on dynamic UI kits that can be reused, customised and ‘copied’ into other projects. Would be happy to contribute!

@Raymond Adeniyi yeah I restarted the challenge. I ended up missing almost a full week due to exhaustion and other things so it didn’t seem right to continue on that path, so I starter over and I’m feeling motivated even more now 💪🏻
Sunday, 24 November - Day 9 of 75
🌟 Short Summary A productive day building a brand-new portfolio site from scratch, laying the foundation for showcasing my work and personal brand! 💻✨ 🛠️ Detailed Progress and Achievements Portfolio Site Development: Spent the entire day (around 9 hours) creating a single-page React app with features including: - Smooth scrolling and custom grid section layouts for a seamless user experience. - Integrated Tailwind CSS for styling. - Added sections for: - CV download - Project previews with links - Reviews/testimonials from clients and coworkers. - A contact form connected to a backend service for email messaging. - Purchased a custom domain matching my social media handle for consistent branding. I’m excited to wrap up the remaining bits before publishing it! Platform Plans: Once the portfolio is live, I’ll shift focus back to: - Completing Convex integration. - Finalizing Clerk auth setup. - Reconfiguring components to work with Convex instead of Appwrite. Upcoming Tasks: Prepared for an early appointment tomorrow and a video call with a recruiter from Arnold Clark, exploring a dev opportunity. 🐾 Daily Routine - Took a few hours to unwind by watching a TV series after a long day. 📺 - Completed my daily mathematics lesson. 🧮 - Responded to some personal messages before calling it a night. 🔮 Looking Ahead Tomorrow’s focus will be on finalizing the portfolio, progressing on the platform, and preparing for the recruiter call. Fingers crossed for new opportunities! 🤞 ✨ Final Thoughts Today was incredibly productive, and I’m excited about the direction my projects are heading. Building the portfolio feels like a huge step forward in showcasing my work and personal brand. 🚀

@Digitl-Alchemyst Steven-Watkins I meant to have it finished tonight but I feel like I’ve been hit by a freight train, so I’ll finish it first thing tomorrow and post the link 💪🏻

@Raymond Adeniyi I really like using appwrite but convex is very powerful and combines perfectly with clerk so it’s going to be a 50/50 between them going forward.

🚀 Short Summary of the Day Today was a much-needed decompression day, focused on self-care and light planning after an intense weekend of work. 📋 Detailed Progress and Achievements Avoiding Burnout: • Recognised the signs of overwork and took the day off from coding to recharge. • Reflected on how intense focus over the weekend left me drained and ensured I prioritised rest today. Portfolio Planning: • Spent time brainstorming additional features and content for my portfolio site. • The extra planning will help streamline future updates and improve the site’s presentation. Daily Habits: • Completed my daily mathematics challenge, staying consistent with my learning streaks. • Got outside for a walk with my dog, which helped me reset and feel more grounded. 💭 Final Thoughts Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is step back and take a breather. Today was about balance and ensuring I don’t push myself too far. Back to work tomorrow with renewed focus!

🚀 Short Summary of the Day Today was a mix of necessary appointments, rest, and exciting progress on a new project focused on mental health and wellbeing. 📋 Detailed Progress and Achievements Morning Appointments: • Had an early appointment, followed by a refreshing walk with my dog. • Held a video call with another recruiter—staying proactive with job opportunities! Unexpected Nap: • Exhaustion caught up with me, and what was meant to be a short nap turned into a 6-hour recharge session 😅. Sometimes, your body just needs the rest. Project Updates: • Planned to finish my portfolio but decided to push it to tomorrow for a fresh start. Continued work on a mental health and wellbeing web app: • An interactive journal designed to help users articulate their emotions and receive supportive feedback. • Personal motivation: It’s been helpful for me, and I’m hoping it will resonate with others too. • Planning to deploy it this week. Learning Milestones: • Completed my daily mathematics lesson. • Reached an 850-day streak on Duolingo—a massive achievement that I’m incredibly proud of! 💭 Final Thoughts Though not the most productive coding day, I’m grateful for the progress I made with the wellbeing app and staying consistent with my personal development goals. Rest was much needed, and I’m excited to tackle tomorrow with a clear mind and fresh energy!

@Digitl-Alchemyst Steven-Watkins really proud of this. It just goes to show that I can clearly stick to doing something that I enjoy and if it wasn’t for the health issues, I’d have been able to extend this streak to my work too.
