Writing Workshop Week 2: Develop Your Characters & Setting!
Hi everyone!
For anyone doing the writing workshop, this week, we’re diving deeper into building complex characters and creating the settings for our stories.
Instead of a live session, please follow these steps and share your work in the comments for feedback. I thought this would be more effective given that it is a writing workshop and not a speaking one, so you can write in the comments, send me a direct message, or write on some paper and take a picture.
What to Do:
  1. Character Development: Who is your character? What motivates them? What personal conflict do they face?
2. Setting Creation: Where does your story take place? How does the setting affect the mood or your character’s actions?
📝 Homework: Combine your character and setting into the first paragraph of your story. Post your paragraph in the comments below, and I’ll provide feedback!
If you need help or have questions, feel free to reach out. And if anyone would like to have a live call to discuss their stories, just let me know and we can still do this on zoom.
Can’t wait to see your work!
Best,
Teacher Dave
