*** Exclaimer, I am not some hype factory, I am not here to pump false hope into anyone. Going through these stages has hard periods of conflicting interests. You WILL go through these periods, as did I. Anyone who tells you window cleaning is magic and rainbows is lying.
You are here to make money, not to feel good all the time ***
Anyways, back to the class!
The class is divided up into categories. Each stage are the general stepping stones I have deemed each window cleaning company will go through.
I will have training, equipment recommendations, and general guidelines to follow to get through each one.
Stage A -
This is the first stage, it covers the point from deciding you want to clean windows, and finishes when you have completed your first job and have received payment.
(Stage A is the hardest step because mathematically it is an infinite % change. You are going from nothing to something.)
Stage B -
2 to 50 clients.
Now that your system works well enough for 1 person to pay you, it is now onto doing more of what you just did until 50 people have paid you.
This class covers more advanced trainings as well as equipment better suited to handle more work each day.
We will also cover the basics of data collection, customer relationship management, and advertising.
Stage C -
51 - 300 clients
Now that your skills are quite good, its time to push them to near perfection.
This stage is emphasizes water-fed equipment, warm outreach scheduling, and client relationship management.
Your job here is to make sure you are keeping every client happy while advertising for more work.
Which will get challenging as you pass the 200 client mark.
Every system we have, every tool and technique that we use today [2024] Is in this class.
*** How this stage will affect your life***
If you are working fulltime and doing windows as a side hustle. This stage will put you into the category of having two full time jobs.
During your growth through this stage you will be making more $ per hour than your "main" job. But you will likely not be making quite as much over the year as your main job.
The reason is that it takes time to build up the client list.
This is where most window cleaning companies die or settle.
The reason is that most people are unable to keep up with the demand they generate and are unwilling to hire others for help.
Let me explain. The average "full time" worker spends about 1920 hours per year at their job.
(40 hours a week)
With 300 clients averaging at 4 hours per job, it equals 1200 hours. That is assuming only 1 visit per year.
Realistically each client (on average) will take 8 hours per year for fulfillment. (4 man hours each visit, and two visits per year)
That means that 240 clients will require the same man hours as a fulltime job.
And 300 clients will be 2400 hours a year for fulfillment.
(That is 50 man hours per week)
[Which is 5 days of the week at 10 hour days. Or 6 days of the week at 8.3 hours]
Since you cant do any half jobs a day , you will be realistically required to work 6 days the week, covering 2 jobs a day by the time you have 300 clients.
Once you have 300 clients, you will most definitely be making more than your "main job"
This math gets even harder if you have weather through the year that prevents window cleaning.
We are probably the best example of this. From December to March we are unable to clean windows as the temperature ranges from 5 to -40 Fahrenheit
That is 33% of the year we cannot wash windows.
But the clients still want their windows done during those 8 months.
Stage D -
301-1000
You are now truly a professional window cleaners through and through!
You will need a crew at this stage. Either yourself and one other or two separate employees.
And multiple crews to reach the end of this stage.
(For reference our company is currently between stage C and D [2024] )
This stage will go over pay structures, and very advanced data tracking and customer relationship management. You are at the point here that there is no way to remember everything so an automated system is required.
Location data, and advanced scheduling is required to make sure there is as little wasted time with travelling inefficiencies as possible.
