Niching further down
Hello dear community,
As I started my journey into having my own company, I built a new website, tried to do some beginner copywriting, and gather as much feedback as I can.
Two days ago, a friend gave me a lengthy and detailed feedback, which triggered some thoughts.
Now I think I'm too broad in what services I want to do for new startup founders.
This is my latest niching down idea:
1- I build MVP (Narrow the scope of my services to just startup founders in need of MVP)
2- With custom code (Don't compete with No-code/Low-code, since my real value is in writing custom software end-to-end that these platforms/tools will never be able to achieve)
3- To create software for SaaS, Marketplace, and E-Commerce platforms (Actually I can build whole platforms around these business models)
The full statement reads: "I build MVP with custom code to create software for SaaS, Marketplace, and E-Commerce platforms".
This is me thinking out loud, I might have answered the USP (Unique Selling Proposition) question asked to me by some days ago, or I might not.
My questions to you are:
  • Is it premature to further niche down this early in the life of my business?
  • When to know it’s time to niche down?
Any feedback or thoughts are welcome!
