1st Trip to Vietnam

Doing my first trip to Vietnam this coming January-February for a few weeks with my incoming and outgoing flights in Hanoi I was wondering if it would be worth it to spend a week in Saigon during Tet. I’ve seen to avoid traveling 2 days before and 3 days after Tet so I would avoid those days but wasn’t sure if flying down there would be worth it or not. Would love to get some feedback as well as other ideas for things to do. This is my first solo trip as well.
