When a cancellation turns into 5 more bookings
Did anyone hear what happened to The Explorer of the Seas this week? Let’s just say the email from Royal Caribbean notifying my clients that their 10 day cruise had been shortened to a 7 day cruise was just the tip of the iceberg. After considering the cost of adding more hotel days to their itinerary, and the loss of 3 destination ports due to the delays, my clients ultimately chose to cancel the whole trip. But the good news? They chose to rebook the same itinerary for April 2025, and gave my name to the other 3 couples in their group to do the same. AND because their bags were already packed, they booked another short getaway because they couldn’t wait until April to getaway. 😂🎉 So what was a $200 commission recall, turned out to be a $1,000 commission in the positive.
