“But, are they buying?”
I like Derek because he’s a great writer. I first started reading him over on Medium. I’m also a subscriber to his Substack.
As of late, he’s been enjoying a lot of subscriber success, meaning that his subscriber numbers are growing rapidly; and it’s because people like how he writes.
There’s nothing wrong with that. However, my question remains: Are they buying?
A subscriber is a fan until they make a purchase. Fans do not pay your mortgage. Fans are lovely, but customers and clients are why we do what we do.
