I hope you're well.
I'm curious what you have to say about this track. Part 1 was created within a short time and I really liked it. Accordingly, I then made various attempts to make this track more "club/festival-ready". After a few intermediate attempts, Part 5 was created. I'm not sure whether the extra effort from 1 to 5 was worth it. Hence my question:
Which one do you prefer: 1 or 5?
Part 1:
Part 5:

Hey there,
your productions are always wild :D You developed a very unique style.
Part 1:
  • before the 2nd break I think it is quite full, and listening to it I am unsure on what element to focus
  • Sometimes I have the feeling that something with the hats or an element interfering with the hats. Something with the groove feels weird (sibjective obviously)
  • You seem to use multiple hat layers but they are mid heavy maybe you can pan them?
  • generally great mix considering that there are so many elements
  • Part 5
  • I like it! Would prefer it over 1, but just because I vibe with that more :)
  • Maybe you could add a small low energy section already before 2nd break, 3:30 minutes seems a little long for high energy all the time.

Hey, Magnus
Thank you very much for taking the time to listen to my track(s). You are a real asset to this forum.
Wow, thanks for the compliment - developed a very unique style - that makes me very happy! I think it's important to find your "own style", because everything else already exists.
And yes - I can accept your feedback very well. Excitingly, I like track 1 - but maybe my brain has somehow burnt it into my head. A minimal version (I think it was version 3) felt so empty and I started adding elements again.
high energy all the time - interesting point. I will pay attention to this in the future. How long such "high energy" should be pushed. After all, we want a good portion of tension and release.
Have a great day.
Cheers, Beat

You definitely have your unique style man, I told you before as well!! Once again, great job on this track and I don't have too much to add here. High End of the track sounds very good to me, the Synths are also layered well and have a lot of depth. Kick & Bass fall behind just a bit, the Kick might need to cut through the other elements a bit more (more Sidechaining perhaps?).
Comparing Part 1 to 5 personally I prefer Part 5 - feels a bit more cohesive too me and also fixes a bit about the Kick. :)
Keep it up man! :)

Many thanks, Adrian, for your feedback - as always very welcome! And yes - you've already told me that my style is unique. I gladly accept this as a compliment. Juhuuuu!
Yes, the kick - which has a lot of transients in the solo - doesn't quite come through anymore. I've really tried a lot here in terms of sidechaining. Higher frequencies are pushed into the sides by AutoPan during the kick. This allows me to make more music audible - but the kick suffers as a result. Probably a "tightrope walk" here. But yes - this track was an exciting etude.
I'm curious where the next track will take me - certainly more "minimal" - which I'm sure I won't succeed in doing! 🤣 - and "kick-heavy".
