Top 5 Ways to Save on Cake!
Saving money on a wedding cake doesn't mean compromising on beauty or flavor! Here are some practical tips to get the cake of your dreams without blowing your budget: 1. Opt for a Smaller Display Cake Have a small, beautifully decorated cake for cutting and photos, then serve guests from a larger sheet cake made in the same flavor. Sheet cakes are less labor-intensive for bakers, making them more affordable. 2. Simplify the Design Intricate designs, fondant details, and sugar flowers increase the cost. Choose a minimalist design with buttercream instead of fondant and decorate with fresh flowers or a simple topper. 3. Use Fake Tiers If you want the look of a towering wedding cake, ask your baker to create faux tiers using foam or cardboard decorated to match your cake. This gives the illusion of grandeur without the cost. 4. Consider Non-Traditional Options Explore alternatives like cupcakes, a donut tower, or a dessert table with a variety of treats. These options are often more cost-effective and offer variety for your guests. 5. Bake It Yourself (or Ask a Talented Friend) If you or someone you know loves baking, consider making the cake yourself. It adds a personal and meaningful touch to your wedding day. Cake Fail?
Hi Everyone, I was just curious if anyone out there has ever had a situation where the Baker delivered the wrong cake? I'm working with a couple that asked about that? They were just curious how something like that would be handled? FYI: I confirm with my Baker a week out, complete with pictures of the cake, flavors, fillings, etc. I mean other than baking it myself, I have to trust the vendor will complete the task at hand? Feel free to share your thought or stories on this. 🎂
