Sales Call is just you talking to the Client about what they want and how you can help them get it with your skill.
Your focus is to listen to what they are doing and not doing and find opportunities on how to make them more money.
While talking, make them feel better about their own business and be relaxed about it.

You can say something like
"I'm not a veteran, but I've been doing this for a long time. I found your business online and I must say, you have a great brand and I like what you do.
I know I'm good at copywriting and I know I can help you.
Been doing it as a side hustle but I want to go into it full time and I'd like to help you, be your day and night, and make this work for you because I admire and appreciate your business"
Saying something like this will put you off on a good start with your client.
