My client bought my caregiver for $12k & another client is about to do the same.
My heart fell in my stomach when one of our clients text me earlier this week that he wanted to buy out my caregiver's contract. Then yesterday another client offered to buy out yet another one of my amazing caregivers. I was close to tears馃ぇ
There is a clause I have in the client contract to deter private hiring. It states:
If a preferred caregiver is contracted privately, the client incurs the cost of $16,000 and other provisions outlined in this contract.
I thought this would deter clients from making arrangements to privately contract my caregivers but it's been enabling them! I pour a lot into my caregivers. From hiring all the way through getting them on their first shift and following up with texts, monthly training and team building and not to mention I do quarterly evaluations. This has resulted in high motivation and accountability from my organization and caregivers.
Do you think this is good news or bad? How would you feel if a client bought out your caregivers?
