Good morning! A heads up, caregivers are considered domestic workers. The new bill where they are deciding the pay increase for healthcare workers only applies to people who work in facilities. If you have caregivers who are in your non-medical in home care agency and they are sent to client's homes for care they do not fall under this bill.
With that being said, pay your caregivers and pay them well. The agencies where I am located is paying their caregivers minimum wage. This is why it was so easy for me to go from a staff of 2 in January to now almost 40 -EXCEPTIONAL caregivers. I pay $4 dollars above minimum wage, cell phone reimbursement and mileage.
Do right by your caregivers and they will do right by you.
