Week One Focus: Consonant Sounds
In week one, we'll cover the 10 most challenging consonant sounds and learn to map our mouths to identify the exact sounds we find difficult in English. Each day, I'll release a new consonant sound video, and I expect you to go through these short videos and post a 1-minute practice in the WeChat or WhatsApp group.
Today's Sound: The "P" Sound - A Bilabial Plosive
There will be a short overview of consonant sounds and the "P" sound video available in the classroom.
Goals for Week One:
- Identify three sounds you struggle with.
- Start working on these sounds every day to build new mouth habits and gain confidence.
Even if you don't have issues with some sounds, go through all the training. This will help you become more aware of your mouth and how it makes sounds, which will be beneficial later in the challenge.
Today's Strategy:
- Watch the Video: Follow along with me.
- Practice Without Sound: Repeat the video without sound to practice mouth positions and words.
- Record Yourself: Say the practice words (5-10 max).
- Post It: Share your practice video in the group.
- Encourage Others: Support and motivate your peers to do the same.
This foundation will help us tackle more advanced techniques later. Enjoy the ride, guys!
Stay tuned for the workbook – I’m just putting the finishing touches on it.
Let's get started! 🚀🎉
