I’ve been wanting to do look like this for ages and now have the skills and confidence to give it a go. Blocked my brows with spirit gum, couldn’t find my silicone eye patch so used a cotton will pad well taped down, and the homemade red and yellow wax to lay a base and a bought skin wax to go over. Alcohol paint for the wound for depth then scab and wet blood to finish off. I’m really pleased with this, my biggest SFX look to date. Thanks Roligore for the community. I’m loving it here!

I tried something a little different today. I saw one with safety pins that inspired me but realised I'd made the gap way too wide so grabbed some sewing pins to pull the look together 😅 I used wax attached with prosaide (testing for a friend's makeup as she won't be able to remove spirit gum after her event), the applied liquid latex over the wax to make it more sturdy. The latex went a bit crumbly though but I was able to cover that with a fake blood. Would love some feedback on how to improve this type of look.

My 5yo wanted a gruesome arm wound so thought I'd practice with silicone. I didn't let it dry enough before painting and touching (impatient 5yo 🤪) and it rubbed off a bit on the edges. But overall really enjoyed creating this one.

Me and the kids had a go at the homemade wax recipe making a colour each. So much fun and great to be and to include them (5 and 6yo) without worrying about wasting expensive product. I didn't really think about placement as was just playing with the kids so not exactly sure what would cause this - maybe a giant zombie bite? 😅
