[Next Step 103] 8 Concepts to Turn Knowledge into Income with a Second Brain OS
##1 Digital Note Taking:
This one is all about capturing, searching & connecting ideas.
It's the core of the Second Brain OS.
Whether you're struggling with Todoist, Notion or a Second Brain OS CustomGPT, use this label!
---
##2 Hooks, Threads & Reels:
A hook is the first 3-5 seconds of text or video that crosses your eyes.
It's the one that either causes you to skip or makes a lasting impression.
This is the starting point of any great Thread or Reel. And if you think about it, they're both short form pieces of content that share a lot in common.
The only difference? One is text and the other is video
---
##3 Newsletters:
These are long-form "value bombs".
A good newsletters organises and packages your insights in a way that the reader feels their time wasn't wasted and they achieved something.
How do these compare to blogs? Newsletters are often big picture, blogs are often more zoomed in. You could say that a Newsletter can often be the "leader" for a series of blogs. They also become the "centre" from which you can draw threads and reels.
Or put simply, it's a long form piece of content that creates a theme for "mid-form" (blogs) and "short-form" (threads & reels)

##4a Low Ticket Offers:
this means a digital product that could be a course, template, automation, code snippet, a chatbot or even a combination (like mine, which was a course + automation + chatbot).
While these are priced very low, the point of them is to deliver a ton of value in a no-brainer price and a very short amount of time. Let me repeat that: High Value, Low Price, Record Time.
They're incredibly important because when creating content, the most optimal strategy is to send people to your "low ticket offer". Not your about me page. Now your newsletter.
Why? Because a person who buys it (despite the low price) becomes a buyer, who is far more valuable than a "visitor" or "reader" or "follower".
---
##4b Upsells:
This is usually a more in-depth digital product, priced upwards of $97 that solves the "natural next problem". But unlike the low-ticket offer, it has to be more specific.
For example, I offer the "Hijack a Personal Brand with Your Second Brain OS" which allows you to go from having dull, boring and possibly off-putting social media profiles to ones that have a clear purpose.
And my other upsell is the "Notion AI for Infinite Repurposing" which allows you to spin one piece of content across 5 different platforms and develop a "resilient" content creation routine that leaves you wondering "how did I do it so quickly".
They're also priced a bit higher because you don't pitch these to "visitors" or "readers" or "followers". You pitch these to buyers
---
##4c Downsells:
If and when a buyer refuses your pitch for an upsell, you can "strip" a part of your upsell and turn it into a smaller item.
Examples: a "pack of prompts" , "workflow", "a small automation", "a small code snippet", "a one page guide with a flow diagram", "a quick checklist".
The point of these is to keep someone in "buyer mode" and continue to offer value for them by at least solving a smaller, more immediate pain
---
##5 Sales Pages:
This is the page people read/view when making a purchase decision for any of your offers. At this point, you've probably seen several but always wondered one thing, "Why is it so long?".
A Sales Page is written with "every possible objection" in mind. And the science behind it comes from "Sales Pitches" and "Sales Calls".
At maximum, this is a 13 step process which translates into 13 sections of a page. I know that's a lot!
But how many sections one adds to a Sales Page is answered by how long it would take to explain the product & convince them to buy it.
And it's not the price that matters. There are a ton of "$27" products people don't buy. And there are a ton of "$997" products people do buy. T
The sales page has to create a "value perception".
So ask yourself before writing a Sales Page: can I sell this over a cup of coffee OR does it need to be 3 dates? The Second Brain OS is a fairly

##6 Email:
You're probably thinking who talks about email in 2024.
I am going to say something that will make you reflect: when was the last day you didn't check your email inbox? It's strange but just like social media, our email inbox is a feed-- except instead of an algorithm deciding what to show us, we've picked people who we subscribe to.
Unlike advertisements, emails are known as "First Party Contact".
It's a direct line to the reader and ends up having a much higher engagement rate than creating ads or posting on social media.
This is why you see so many newsletters and offers in your Inbox from different people towards whom you've shown an interest.
Email is where lasting relationships are nurtured.
---
##7 Automation & Forms:
If you've ever thought "where" things could go wrong, well then my friend that place is called a "Form".
From loosing valuable data about where your reader came from to what newsletters or offers they engaged with, submitting a form is the first point of "meaningful action".
It's also a point after which more serious automations kick in: weekly newsletters, welcome email sequences, follow ups, product launches and much more.
---
##8 Analytics & Event Tracking:
Every single thing you do is an event.
From engaging with social media posts, to filling in your email to get something of value to making a purchase or clicking on links in emails, each one is an event.
And fun fact, events are OG concept that have led to social media platforms having such a clear picture of who you are and what you're interested in.
It's also the beast that has led to cookies becoming controversial and data privacy regulations becoming serious. And it still continues to gather attention because it allows a brand or business to deeply understand it's audience.
In the modern day, what you need is to track "just enough events with consent" so that you're not being unfair to the user or yourself. As long as you achieve that middle ground, you will have data to make decisions without getting into trouble.
