Have you ever met someone and instantly felt like you had to get away from them?
Or, on the flip side, have you ever met someone and felt instantly drawn to them?
The former are what I call Energy Vampires. These are people who, whether they mean to or not, suck the energy out of those around them. They're negative, they're always focusing on the bad, and they're just generally not very pleasant to be around.
In contrast, Energy Givers are people who are positive, uplifting, and energizing to be around. They often have a strong sense of empathy and are able to help others feel supported and motivated.
So why does this matter?
Well, people are very good at sensing stuff subconsciously. And what they're attracted to is positivity and joy, not negativity or pain. So if you want to be more successful in sales (or in anything really), it's important that you focus on being an Energy Giver.
How can you do this?
Well, first of all, make sure that your own energy is in a good place. If you're feeling rundown or stressed out, take some time for yourself to recharge. Secondly, be intentional about putting out positive vibes when you're interacting with others. Smile, make eye contact, and be genuinely interested in what they have to say. And finally, don't be afraid to give compliments or express gratitude.
TLDR: Don't be an Energy Vampire. Be an Energy Giver.
