I have heard a lot of students say that they feel burnt out or lazy and don't know what to do about it. Well, me too. But I'm kinda slowing overcoming it these days. So here are my tips for you to do the same:
- Make study fun. Study the way it is fun for you. For me, I like listening to a lot of lectures that dive deep into the topic while having a good song playlist on low volume as a bg.
- Don't study hard, study smart. I've heard students say they study 10-12 hours daily but still don't see any results. What I do is, I study 6-8 at most, but I do it efficiently. How? through scientific methods, like the Feynman technique: where you explain a topic to an imaginary 5-year-old to understand or I use the Pomodoro technique, I23 technique etc. Use the ones that apply to you.
- Just sleep when you feel too burnt out rather than resting while being awake. It is much better and helps you focus.
- Caffeine, tea, or cold water helps to wake you up immediately and please EAT to recharge.
- Set small goals. It help you feel accomplished and ACTUALLY makes you have some progress. (You can also set all your tasks in google calendar)
- Just recall your reasons for studying. 'Why do you want to study?', 'If you study this right now, will it be useful'
- Set your goal efficiently. Set those 1st that need instant attention and those last that can be flexible.
- Feel bored? Do group studies or walk as you study.
I think that's all I do mostly.
