Secondly, if you do, do you just send the files and leave it? Or do you provide a document explaining how to use the files?
I mention this because we rarely send raw files to clients, but on the rare occasions that we have, it has been disastrous. We receive constant emails back and forth about the videos being “grey” and lacking “colour” (since they are shot in log). Their “video editor” can’t seem to use the files or sometimes can’t even open them… The list goes on and on.
So, what we decided to do is create a one-pager that explains what they will be receiving, how they can use the files, what to expect, and how to fix common issues (because they always encounter the same problems).
Since implementing this, we rarely have clients who ask for raw footage come back complaining.
