Is light EVERYTHING?
Like most beginners, I used to think that cinematography was extremely related to the camera you use. Expensive cameras. Until finally, I realized that LIGHTING IS THE KEY to achieve a nice film look, not the camera. The opening of my short film is a person building a scarecrow. I wanted it to be in a barn, at night. But I didn't now have access to a barn... so, I had to do it in my office. I placed pieces of crates on a table, and I used 3 lights... one to add a warm feeling to the entire ambient. Another, a spotlight with gobo simulating the shades of a window, with a blue filter to simulate the moon light. And a small light with a candlelight effect. I don't think it could look any better. What do you think? I'll soon make a video showing step by step how it was done. It was my first horror short film.

Super Slow Motion... Do I need a super expensive camera?
I was faced with a problem... I needed to produce a footage of an insect flying, in slow motion. Most of the cameras we, mortals ($), have, even expensive cameras, will give us 60fps, some 120fps, or even 240fps if you reduce the video quality.... But I needed more!!! So, I decided to try my cellphone... yes! 960fps .... according to the specifications.... and ... WOW .... I love it. And quality super nice... I'll have no problem incorporating videos made that one, into any other professional production I need to make. Take a look at the results (using Samsung Galaxy S10)

Making of ... Apocalypto
If there is one film that is beyond anything else we can see now and in a far future, it's Apocalypto. Mel Gibson DID NOT use green screen to make it... O.M.G. Watch this documentary about the production of this masterpiece:
