Hey, all. Amazing news. Visa exemption on arrival in Thailand is doubling from 30 to 60 days as of June 1st. This will apply to 93 countries including the US/UK/EU/AU.
It's unclear yet if the 30 day extension for 1900 baht after that at an immigration office will also increase to 60 days for a total of 120, although it looks likely. In any case, the 60 day tourist visa and all the rigmarole that came with it is now obsolete. 🥳
A stay of 4 months in a row straight up is amazing. A single border run to repeat the cycle would give us 8 months. Two border runs and we're potentially looking at staying for a full year.
Presumably, they'll be restrictions placed on this to stop foreigners staying indefinitely, but right now Thailand as a long term destination for nomads has never looked better.
*The digital nomad visa for Thailand is also being extended to 5 years.
