- What did we intend to accomplish (what was our strategy)? I was going to follow the plan layout last night and finish my essay - What did we do (how did we execute relative to our strategy)? The essay is still not finished yet. I followed the plan, transcribed it this morning from handwritten notes, and pruned it once, doing the final run right now, halfway through. all that was left was another pass to finish the concluding sentence, catch spelling and grammar errors, and format it to APA. (that is gonna take forever) - Why did it happen that way (why was there a difference between strategy and execution) Because work expands to the time you allotted and I didn't set any time box. I also didn't wake up at 6 am and go to the coffee shop. Instead, I woke up at 9, sat in my chair, and wrote the whole day. There were a few distinctive moments when I felt exhausted and I decided to take a break. Maybe I shouldn't have taken those breaks and should have pushed it through. - What will we do to adapt our strategy or refine our execution for a better outcome OR how do we Thinking back to the few times I was exceptionally productive, I always had a deadline. I will look at the clock and go "omg I only have an hour left, how can I do this fast?" I'll have a small struggle internally and find a way to get it done faster to move on to the next step. I'm gonna move on from William's advice and go back to time blocking. - Plan for tomorrow.. Finish my essay 1 hour to finish pruning. 1 hour to check spelling by Grammarly and read the essay out loud in my head 1-hour format and get references. submit the essay by 12:00.
