Hi MPH fam,
I just finished my first in person interview in over a year and I’ll be honest I was really nervous but I wanted to share my experience with everyone.
I’m happy to the say the interview went really well and the tips and shared over our Thursday meeting helped tremendously! So interview starts off really well and somewhere towards the middle they asked me a question I wasn’t really prepared to answer so I asked if we could come back to that question. As the interview goes on we really vibe on other topics and the time runs out and the interviewer forgets to go back to the initial question.
I was hesitant to ask to come back to a question but it really worked in my favor and as the interview went on I was able to think of an example for that question that interviewer asked me just in case.
I realized sometimes a question can really stump you and I feel like it would have been worse if I just sat there thinking of an answer to come up with at that moment.
But yeah I hope this helps anyone who might get a challenging question during an interview. Don’t feel pressured to give an answer right away especially if it’s not authentic to you.
Cheers and happy Friday
