The Social Media Trap
I have seen a growing trend among a lot of the MOA members. Since starting the journey of building our social media, we have become more immersed into it both positively and negatively. We spend a lot of time watching stories, scrolling our feed for entertaining or motivating content in the form of memes or quotes to repost for our followers to see. This can take up a lot more time than we thought it would and it’s easy to get stuck into the dopamine trap, scrolling aimlessly for extended periods of time without realizing it. A lot of people that never really used Instagram before are especially at risk for this.
Make sure to block off some time every day/every other day to scout content if you’re going to but don’t go over. Use the extra time to learn another language, read a book, practice new skills, achieve your fitness goals, etc.
Like Michael said, as men, we should be producers and not consumers.
