Yes, it’s a pretty dire statistic, but there’s a wrinkle — those stats come from dating app swipe statistics.
Yes, they’re interesting, but they don’t tell the whole story.
Women might rule out men based on height, age, educational status, parental status, pet preferences, zodiac sign … whatever “ick” they might happen to feel that day.
They can look at one middling fish pic after another and come to the conclusion “Wow, 96% of men are worthless.”
