The Frightening Fundamentals?
You know how the fundamentals are so critical? Well, what do you do when those fundamentals goes against what the company wants? You do... something like this!
=-=-= How To Unfollow All Unwanted FB Pages at Once =-=-=
Wouldn't that be a dream?
But you know, there's a corporate issue here. FB does NOT want you to unfollow! After all, think about it - the more followers you have (even if said followers don't interact), the more popular people think their pages are, and the more content they will create, and ......
Blah. So I needed to figure out a way to unfollow 'em all.
Now, I've been on FB now since the dawn of, hmmm, the 1700s or so? and I decided to update my Favorites on FB (you can only favorite up to 30 people/pages (not groups!)) at one time.
Perfect. Peachy! So off I went to my Feed settings to update that information and found some truly thrilling facts of life!
Facts, like, gee, oh, I don't know, it seemed that the *vast* majority of my past favorites were gone/history/toastified! Delightful, said I, with all the glee of a toddler cleaning up her room, and I decided to add them back in. I mean, Jeepers, it was only 30 "let's make this person/page a favorite!" actions I needed to take - what could be easier!
Welp, it turns out that deciphering the Rosetta Stone, minus the Stone, could be easier, as after adding back 4 more folk, I received the baffling message of, you cannot exceed your 30 favorites!
But... I only had 4? thought I.
Anywhos, realizing I could NOT actually *see* who are the 30 favorites, I figured that my usual solution of using a 30 ton Acme-sized and Coyote-approved boulder would fix the issue in a jiffy - I'd first just unlike every page since I got onto Facebook!
Stop chortling, I see that!
Now, if you're on the desktop, you might already have fallen to the floor from laughing hysterically. After all, the desktop version asks you, Are you certain? (so kind, so thoughtful, so decidedly unwanted if I wanted to unlike the 4,227,173 (number slightly exaggerated) liked pages all at once).
But! The mobile version actually allows you to (I hope you're sitting down) "unlike" a page in *one click! gasp!*! So, you can simply remind yourself that every hour or so, mosey on by your mobile phone, visit the liked pages, and methodically drop a smaller boulder upon each of them (the liked pages, not your mobile phone).
Yep, definitely NOT all at once, but hey, is anything within FB all-at-once? There *used* to be a chrome extension that would achieve the same results; rumor has it the developer was then banned for life. Which makes me wonder, will *this* post ban me for life?
I suppose we'll see.
Anywhos part 2, your takeaway? While there might NOT be one way to unlike ALL pages at once, you *can* make that activity slightly less agonizingly soul-searing by using the mobile one-click-unsubscribe (much like one-click-unsubscribes that are now required in all eMails, but I digress).
