How often do you do 2 things at once?
I’ve noticed that I rarely do just one thing at a time. When I’m driving, I’ll have music or a podcast on. When I’m working out, same thing—music or a podcast. Even when I’m working, I’ll have background music or maybe a TV show if it’s something that doesn’t need heavy concentration. And don’t even get me started on brushing my teeth or showering—I’m watching YouTube shorts or doing some Duolingo.
I’m not sure if being so used to multitasking is good or bad, but here’s the thing: When I actually sit down to fully concentrate on something, I know it’s important. That deep focus feels different, like it’s reserved for tasks that really matter.
Anyone else in the same boat? How do you balance multitasking and focusing on just one thing?
