Hello! :)

I’m Melinda and I’m from Canada, but I live in Indonesia with my husband and 9mo old baby girl. I joined this community at my husband’s @vendysutanto recommendation because I have been wanting to build something online for a long time.

I have been teaching English in Indonesia since 2015. I worked at English centres until the pandemic when I went online and joined Preply. I really struggled on the platform to get students and to make a living. I went back to working in a school for almost 2 years and was miserable. So at the beginning of this year, I challenged myself to start something online. I have a few private students and I started a pronunciation workshop for Indonesians. So it's a start.

My goal is to create something that limits the 1:1 classes so that my time is freed up to focus on my family. So, for the next 30 days, I want to nail down my niche. I also need to work on my mindset and believe that I can do this.

I’m looking forward to learning and growing together in this community. Any suggestions, advice, or encouragement are welcome. If I can do so in return I will. Thanks all!
