Opt-in validity for SMS compliance?

I was chatting with a guy yesterday who calls leads to verify and prequalify them before selling them to installers in various industries, and was telling him about the database reactivation system. When I mentioned that we only reach out to leads who have opted in within 365 days or less, he said that opt-ins are only valid for 90 days in the US. Anybody know anything about this?

I'm looking through Twilio's documentation for specific information on this but haven't been able to find anything about opt-in validity yet, hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction!
