how to find the perfect appointment setter👁️‍🗨️
HOW TO HIRE APPOINTMENT SETTER TEAMS
You need to delegate asap, learn the fundamentals and teach people what you know, once you delegate you will start to scale
Key points
  • Don’t be lazy: only hire setters when you are too busy with sales calls or service delivery to do it yourself
  • Don’t be cheap: hire quality talent and pay well (don’t hire a $3/hr VA)
Quality Setters
A good quality setter has two main attributes: consistency and charisma.
The thing about our process is that it doesn’t require a huge amount of skill or talent. The key determining factor as to whether or not they will succeed is simply down to their ability to follow instructions and do it every day.
For this reason we want to base our hiring process around finding people who are consistent and disciplined in other areas of their lives.
Attributes we’re looking for:
  • Stellar fluent English (or English as first language)
  • Ideally USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc
  • Proven track record of consistency & discipline
  • Charisma, extraversion & enthusiasm
Hiring Process
Option 1: Looking at your circle
Look at your social circle and people you know, perhaps other people in your network or mutual friends. Ask yourself who you could see making a good appointment setter. Who do you know who has charisma? Ideally someone young with spare time, e.g. a university / college student. Alternatively, a stay at home mother who has a few hours in the day. It can truly be anyone so long as they have the
charisma and consistency to get people to book.
Option 2: Using groups & socials
Look at big social media and search for groups that were originally created for the purpose of what you are trying to achieve. Eg. Appointment Setter Groups
Step 1: Join Groups
On Facebook you can search for groups. A good place to find talent is to search for the following groups.
“Appointment Setter”
“SMMA”
“Make money online”
“Quit 9-5”
There are hundreds of groups with young/ambitious people looking to find a way to make money online remotely. I’d recommend joining 15-20 of these groups.
Step 2: Post Job Info
Next, post the following in the groups you’ve joined:
You might need to wait for the post to be approved. For optimal reach I’d recommend posting in as many groups as possible.
Step 3: Screen ‘Applicants’
DM everyone who’s commented on your post an introduction message to confirm they’re interested in the role.
Once you have gathered your applicants, create a Google form with the following titles and questions (all as required)
Title: Appointment Setter Form
Subtitle: We're hiring appointment setters! This is an opportunity to make thousands of dollars every month by remotely working for a few hours a day. This opportunity is only available to one person, and that could be you. Answer the questions below, and if it seems like a fit you will be invited for a quick 15 minute interview.
Q1: What’s your name?
Q2: How old are you?
Q3: Please link your Facebook profile below (this helps us link your answers to your profile)
Q4: What's your email address?
Q5: Which country are you based in?
Q6: Can you give some real life examples of a time you have been consistent and disciplined to achieve something you want in your life? (this is the most important question)
Q7: What is one thing you're super passionate about? (it can be anything, no wrong answers)
Q8: Please record & upload a 30 second selfie video explaining why you're so passionate about this
thing & why you love it so much! (link it below)
Step 4: Interviewing
Wait a day or two for all applicants to submit their forms. The more forms the better, aim for at least 20-40 (a lot of them will be bad applicants).
Next you need to decide who to interview.
Here’s what you’re looking for:
  1. Fluent, clear English (demonstrated by the video)
  2. Charisma, excitement, good communication skills (demonstrated by the video)
  3. Someone over the age of 18
  4. Clear examples of when they’ve been consistent & disciplined
  5. Clear effort put into the form (good video, good answer to the consistency question)
Next, create a simple spreadsheet called ‘applicants’.
Add all the applicants to the sheet that tick all 5 of the above boxes. You should have at least 5-10.
Next, create a 15 minute calendly event called ‘Interview’. Send this to the applicants that made it through the screening process.
The interview is very simple and can take no longer than 5-10 minutes sometimes.
All you’re looking to do is converse with them to suss them out. Ask them the following:
  1. Their goals
  2. Expand on the times they’ve displayed consistency or discipline
  3. What would make this the best opportunity for them
  4. What would make this the worst opportunity for them
Ask them what questions they have about the role and explain how it works at a high level.
Interview all the applicants, using your spreadsheet to make notes and store zoom recordings.
Once you’ve conducted at least 5-10 interviews, you can make a decision on who to hire. The best person should stand out (the one with the most charisma and consistency/discipline).
You can always hire two or three - remember we’re only paying per appointment.
Step 5: Agreement
Advise the unsuccessful applicants you won’t be hiring them at this time.
Advise the successful applicant(s) that you want to hire them, and that they’re welcome to take some time to confirm it’s the right fit for them.
Once you have a verbal confirmation they’re happy to come onboard, we need to get them to sign a basic contractor agreement.
You can easily put together a contractor agreement with google docs and docusign.
Step 6: Onboarding
Add your setter to your communication platform (Slack recommended).
Make a slack channel for setters to communicate with them as a team.
Make a slack channel for discovery calls (zap all new calendly events to appear here) so when a call is booked the setter can see.
Send the setters the training & SOPs you made in the last video.
Arrange a call with them to answer any questions once they’ve watched the training videos and explored the SOPs.
Ask for their bank transfer details so you can make payments easily. (we do payouts once a month on the 2nd, verifying on the 30th/31st/1st).
Create a calendly event identical to the one you currently have for appointment booking (see first videos of acquisition genesis), but add their initials to the title of the event so you can track which appointments came from them.
