In April 2023, our business entered into a contract with Five Star Logistics and Distribution, (posed as a customer) anticipating a mutually beneficial partnership. Unfortunately, a month went by without payment, and attempts to reach Five Star Logistics were met with silence. We swiftly reported this fraudulent activity to carrier411 and FMCSA, uncovering that many other businesses had fallen victim to the same scam orchestrated by these professional scam artists—a familial operation with a history of deceit.

In response, we've diligently documented our experience, including the discovery of other businesses linked to these individuals. This information is vital in alerting and protecting fellow businesses from similar schemes.

Our strategy has been multifaceted: seeking legal advice to fortify our defenses, enhancing internal policies to prevent future incidents, and actively engaging in recovery efforts while advocating for industry-wide safeguards.

To amplify our response, we've escalated the matter by involving law enforcement agencies and collaborating with federal bodies like the FBI. Additionally, we've reported these fraudulent activities to pertinent authorities such as the Florida Attorney General's Office, the Better Business Bureau, and Sunbiz in Florida.
