What is the next step after having some knowledge of Python?

I just finished the Python course on Kaggle. As I embark on the journey of data science, I find myself feeling a bit lost. After gaining some fundamental knowledge of Python, I believe the next step is to start a project and align it with my learning path. What do you think about this approach? As a newbie in the field of data science, what suggestions do you have for me?
