Is using ai chat to assist in learning to code a good thing in the long term.

In my experience I started using open ai to help fix small issues, but by the end of the project I was using to to re-write all my lines of code.

I found I could simply Ask what I wanted to achieve and it wrote the whole project.

Which got me thinking are we needed as developers when a manager can ask ai to create its own ai projects??
