How did you build your website?
Hey creators, I'm doing some market research as I'm thinking about offering website design again! I'd love to know, did you DIY your website? Hire it out? What platform are you using?
I build my website myself
I did it myself but with a template
Hired someone to build it
I don't have a website yet

My website is on squarespace. My hot take on this 👉 build your funnels before your website. I send more traffic to my funnels than my website. The pages on my website that do get visits all lead back to my funnels.

I have done both. I'm of the firm belief that a website is often secondary to getting started in a business and easily a distraction from actually going out and selling things to people. I didn't have any website from 2014 - 2020 (it was a splash page that had a logo and an email address) and we did 6-fig in revenue from 2016 on with the lack of website. TBH my current website is still not really that great, in terms of telling people what I do or helping them buy.
I also agree with - the sales pages and funnel pages are more crucial, depending on what you're selling and how you sell it. Most of my offers are higher ticket, so I have sales collateral that doesn't live on a website at this time and it's never a problem.

Thanks for sharing, I love that you got such incredible results without a website!

I’ve skipped around over the last 10 years. I started on Blogger, then Squarespace, Wordpress and Showit. Squarespace was probably my favourite out of those.
Now my site is on Payhip which allows me to sell digital products. It’s pretty basic but I don’t have the patience for dealing with themes and updates these days.

I built my websites on Squarespace, with the original Website in a Box template, this was in 2017 or something. A couple of years ago I hired a SS designer to clean them up and improve the design. A website is a living thing. However, Squarespace does not integrate with Facebook API, and apparently they have no interest in doing so... ever. Which is ridiculous in this day and age, as most of us desperately need good tracking for our ads, so I am no slowly (against my will) creating landing pages on Dropfunnels (which is based on Wordpress)

I build websites for a living. Save yourself grief and stay well away from wix and square if you want any organic traffic.
Wordpress is the best by a long shot and totally flexible.
If you have the budget outsourcing is alway preferred as you get someone that knows the up to date information (if they are good).
Last piece of advice is get your customer journey sorted so that you build a website that generates leads to sales. If you have an easy way for leads that want to take the next step to do that you are winning… know what your conversion points are and measure them!
Enjoy the journey!
