Here's my 2 cents... Zapier is impressive because of its ease of use and simplicity in debugging problems. Make.com does a great job at being scalable when integrating APIs and complex workflows. It's cheaper too... If I compare the two, I'd say Zapier is like driving an automatic, and Make.com is like going manual.
I hadn't heard of Integrately. I'll have to check that out. I personally started on Zapier and then tried make and found it's way less user-friendly for someone just starting out. Zapier is more intuitive, but is definitely pricy! I would personally start on Zapier cause it's just easier to get started and get some early wins with some basic automations. I started the Make Academy and will probably revisit that at some point. But I would say the start-up time to learn to be functional on Make is higher, but my goal is to be able to use them sort of interchangeably eventually. I'm a relative newbie to it all, but that's my experience so far.
I think thats a good plan. Zapier is definitely easier to get into and has a huge amount of integrations. I personally like Make even more, but maybe because i have a technical background.
thanks for updating us on this! I currently have the $29/mo pro plan for 750 tasks/mo. I'm looking to transfer what I can to Make to save money, but not sure it's worth the time to do this yet.
i use zaps unlimited which seems to be an enterprise account for zapier that gives 50k zaps for $29?
I’ve only used it for a few weeks but has all the regular zapier features… it let me transfer my zaps from my own account
Honestly I’m a little concerned that it’s an enterprise account and not direct but I only use 1 or 2 zaps in there for programs that integrate with pabbly.
So not recommending it but it’s an option!
Id be curious to know if anyone else has used it for a while now?
I changed the email on my zapier account so my team could access it.
Then I lost access to zaps unlimited.
Turns out I needed to inform them that I changed my email! Because they saw an email that didn’t match the database and removed it.
Took about 4 days to get a response from them about it.
So:
1) if you change your email on zapier be sure to inform zaps unlimited
2) their customer service is slow. Be ready for it
3) the price point of $29/mo is really good… but im not sure it will be worth the uncertainty that I could lose access to my account without notice and take 4 days to hear back from support
Hey guys! Do you know ACTIVEPIECES? It's Zapier-like open source alternative with is a free plan (Free 1,000 tasks per month, unlimited flows + $1 per 1,000 extra tasks). OR your can use for FREE by installing it either on your computer or on a VPS server.
Is it me as a beginner, or are the various platforms used for the automation of content switching (or let´s say) evolving quite often. I find videos from Steven that are using this and that. In general how will it be when I purchase the big package, do I have to take care of that all the time? Like in software updates for pc programms? I would love to have a system that can do my stuff and then run and make money with it.
Whatever solves your or your client's problem the best. They use a lot of the same underlying concepts so you should learn both. If Zapier only supports an integration you need then use Zapier to solve that problem. If both of them support an integration and you prefer Make then use Make. Once you learn one you're 80% of the way the mastering the other.
If I was new to automations and using Airtable, I would learn Make to save money and give more flexibility. However, I am extremely comfortable with Zapier and my KEDB is linked 100% with Zapier.
In my opinion, Zapier is so easy for those new to this. You can even tell it what apps you want to connect and what you want to happen and it will begin building it out. $29/mo is worth it to me to have a system that works and that I can easily customize as needed.
Make is on my list to learn but low on my priority list. I haven't checked out Pabbly but that looks like a good option as well.
